MikeW
I would agree with the tracked post knocker, saved me a lot in time and labour, I would also miss the staple gun now if I had to go without, and not forgetting the Makita radio! Post Driver
Machinery and power tools are essential, but I dunno how I lived without an Eze wire puller, or a bendy tool for fiddling with horse net
Nicholsonsforestry
The list could be endless really but our tracked post driver first staple gun second and to be honest my ever faithful eastwig hammer. Yes they maybe expensive as hammers go but they last forever and weighted just right.
premnayloon
For me, the measuring wheel customers tell me it's the most expensive tool in my armoury, Seriously, my stihl petrol borer, makes gate hanging far faster,
HenryG
Ordered 2 gate post caps yesterday so we can drive pointed top gate posts with out leaving any trace!!!! If the plan works these could be an invaluable addition to the tool bag!!! May also get him to make some new fencing bars as well!!
MikeW
The wheel fortune....or not! Henry, with regards to the post caps, have you got a twister cap on your knocker? three different suppliers that I use all have different points on their square sawn posts and they are quite different and they will also vary depending on where they get them from! I just cut off the very tip leaving about a 2" square (no bigger) and that is enough surface to knock them in and they actually look quite good imo. I then use a big post twister I made but if you don't get the twist right in the first foot or so in tight ground then you have had it!
HenryG
Yes we use a large twister at the moment to keep straight, on the old knocker we had a single spike on the post cap to hold the post in place which left little trace but with the new machine the post cap has angle iron to hold the post which leave quite a mark on the top, fortunately we also supply a lot of materials to other contractor so always have different gate posts in stock to suit the cap being made
