JW Conservation ltd
Hi guys, one of our kubota RG30 (protech) post knockers has a problem, it jams on its track brakes after about 10 yards and the only way to free it off is to turn the machine off and wait 2-3 mins and move it another 10 yards before the track lock up again! I replaced the tandem pump but to no avail, has anybody had anything like this happen before? I know a few of you chaps have these machines. Post Driver
If you have no luck, try searching on plant and machinery forums. Is it like this from a cold start? Or once the oil is warmed up?
JW Conservation ltd
hot or cold it doesn't matter. after 10 yards or so it will jam solid, it feels like the parking brake is on but its not, it just cuts off the drive and starts 'calling' for its oil if you try and move the levers! Post Driver
I cant help you I'm afraid. I would definitely sign up to some construction equipment forums and have a nose about. Hydraulic filter restricting flow?
JW Conservation ltd
changed the filter although it had only been on 200 hrs, i will have a look on some of the forums, thanks for your help.
MikeW
Have you tried Protech? they are pretty knowledgeable on the RG30's. I have had mine for about 3 years and its been ok but think it is underpowered and I don't like the handbrake situation. It would be much better if it was like a digger and stopped on a slope when you let go of the levers but the transmitions are different as you know. D A MacDougall Fencing
I used them to recondition a final drive on my morka mst 600 it cost a arm and leg but it was done right and quick . Parts are costly but down time u will never get back
JW Conservation ltd
Did you have the same symptoms as I have described? I would of thought if a final drive had gone then it wouldn't track/move at all? I have contacted Cautrac but there technician was busy and said he would ring tomorrow. Took the spool block that had the parking brake, low/high box lever on to check for a blown seal but everything seems to be in order.
D A MacDougall Fencing
No once it went could not move more than a inch back our forward.i was just trying to say that cautrac will get u going but it will cost . Good luck hope it's just o ring or something simple
JW Conservation ltd
the simple things as I have found are usually the hardest things to find and solve!!
MikeW
Cautrac are very expensive, I feel that they think they have you by the short a curlies and I don't like that! so to date I have managed to cross match all the parts ive needed so I don't have to use them! any plant fitter that's any good should be able to sort you out
HenryG
Have you got the newer model dumper with the electronic parking brake? Sounds a bit like the parking brake is applying itself or a wire from it is touching maybe??
JW Conservation ltd
we have sorted it! it was so simple I'm embarrassed to say! after taking apart numerous pumps/spool blocks we traced a kinked pipe! to be fair it was nicely tucked away under the chassis but even so I nearly kicked myself for not spotting it sooner!
