RED STAG
While we are talking gates I have fitted lots of wooden field gates that have to open in one direction only and swing uphill fairly straight forward job with a rising hinge kit. Does anyone know of such a kit for steel field gates?
MikeW
I hang the gate on the top ride then open the gate up to see what height it needs to be to open then adjust the lower eye bolt up to the right length and then put the hook to drive over on the post where it needs to be so when it opens out the length of the lower eye bolt pushes the gate up. However im sure you know this anyway!
bushwacker
is that for a metal gate , on to a wooden post .and when it shuts ,is it level ?
Goaty
I would assume so, if it was a metal post with welded crooks you would need to put the post in way out of plumb to shift the hinge axis and keep the gate level when shut. A while ago I found a uk maker of ironwork I was impressed with the range. I think its A.Perry, but it could be another one Perry is here. http://www.hinges.co.uk/
