premnayloon Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Anyone help with their methods of getting some kind of tension on rabbit net, I always pull it by hand from post to post but was wondering if anyone had any tricks to enable a consistent tension over a decent length, also what methods do you use to join or overlap each roll
Post Driver Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 We used the gas to blow a hole in the top and bottom of the Quickfencer frame to enable us to drop a bar down through a netting roll stood upright (bar had a washer welded near the top so it didn't drop right through). You can't really pull it much as it shrinks in height as it gets stretched. Just tweaked a fraction to take up slack then plenty of clips. To staple it off we use a staple gun from Ramfast that fires lighter weight 40mm staples. To join we just overlap the rolls by a meter or so then plenty of clips, if near a post then staple it off too. Not pretty but works well enough.
premnayloon Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 I am not keen on working clamps either for fear of tearing wire, I think I will just stick to my method and like you I use plenty of clips, though I usually only overlap 12-18 inches perhaps it's worth a bigger overlap,
