Ben Fencin
I'm curious why you guys seem to use so much hinge joint? Over here in the USA (at least the North East) , just about everything installed by contractors is equivalent to your Titan knot. Your Taurus knot we simply call "S" knot, that is common for your horse fence and 4 in x 4 in sheep and goat fence. Everything else is "fixed knot" aka "titan." Looking through the contractor estimating tool, I was surprised how few of options there are for "titan."
premnayloon
I think it's because it's what they've always used when it comes to my customers, and scottish farmers aren't prone to new fangled things.
tepapa
1) It's cheaper 2) Uk manufacturers of netting have more machines to make hinge joint, than the other types of knots so there is a greater supply
D A MacDougall Fencing
But more people are starting to use fix knot netting so it might get cheper and it might incouraged the manufactures to invest in fixed net machine . But maby not when I think about it they are very expensive
