stevew Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Just had a guy apply for a fencing vacancy we have advertised. labour only cards in. He said he could install all types of fencing ( industrial commercial domestic agricultural ) and could drive all types of machinery 360. Tracked or rear mounted tractor, he said he is currently working north of the boarder . Asked him what rate of pay he was looking for he said he would not work for less than £1000.00 per week as that is what he was on now..!!! Think I might move to Scotland !
Goaty Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Hmm, bet he is the first to go when things get slack. £52,000 a year for an employed machine operator, if true there has to be some compromises. Or someone is making silly money easily to pay him. Hope he is saving it. Unlikely he will be getting that in 5 years time.
DWJONES fencing Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Find out who he works for ill have his job once hes gone!!
Frontrowfencing Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 I will come and work for £999.00 a week. Can probably bring some work with me if anyone is interested in employing me.
Frontrowfencing Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 You may have yourself an new employee soon Steve. As I say I can bring some work with me. However at that rate you may loose a bit of money on some of the jobs, but do t let that put you off.
stevew Posted September 8, 2015 Author Report Posted September 8, 2015 The guy got real p****d off when I asked him if he was serious
Frontrowfencing Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Well I would take a job at that price. I have the contract written up,already Steve. 40 hours a week then I want overtime, 40 days paid leave a year. Flexi hours too. Oh and not forgetting a company vehicle and any other perks you are willing to give me.
Charliehub Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Just out of interest was that self employed or on the books Steve? Had a self employed lad (very experienced one at that) looking for £160 a day drop in this week bit too much for me but someone must be paying it ?
stevew Posted September 8, 2015 Author Report Posted September 8, 2015 The job is cards in, and everything provided. When he told me what he wanted, I nearly asked him if that was for him and a mate.

premnayloon Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 No no was advised to stay clear those contracts usually involve harsh penalties for not meeting deadlines. Also look to pick holes in work, I also see there was a contractor whose name escapes me but has a three letter initial as the name around the kingswell area a while ago.
Vanessaw Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 Well we have been on Borders rail but I can assure you we weren't paying that!!!!!!
Wilson86 Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Must have been a subby and you know that was for 7 days right? lol
