D A MacDougall Fencing
Not something I have ever thought about. would it help having 2 cattle grids next to each other. Possible 200 m of fencing ether side off the road leading up to the cattel grid close to the road they might get feed up walking up the road and turn round ???? stevew
The grids are 12" deep fenced on both sides the bars in the grid were 50 ml wide and 100 ml apart badgers were walking straight over the grid. We have changed the bars to 15 ml wide and 100 ml apart, at first they would not cross but by day 4 they are crossing as before

stevew
The customer won't have electric, so it has to be in the designe of the grid
Post Driver
What about big mesh, say 50 x 100? Or would cattle chance walking over it? Like the stuff they use on gantry, but will need bracing underneath for vehicle http://www.lk-uk.com/products/steel-gratings/
aaron
Tough one, What about a wide mesh? Would of thought they would get the hang of that as well eventually. The only way I would of thought to guarantee exclusion would be to make a gate that you have to open/close morning and night.
Charliehub
How's about running electric fencing poly wire between the slats but just a bit higher than the grid . Vehicles passing over would not catch them but Mr badger might think twice a small battery powered enigiser in the grid pit would run it and steel slats could be the earth
Post Driver
Could you make a cattle grid whereby every other bar is insulated and live, then the other bars are the earth?
