Davidshutlerlandscapes
Hey all. Anyone here got any tips on putting tension on chainlink fencing. Using wooden posts then a 4x2 rail at the top and another half way down. Can you use a clamp and wire pullers like you would with stock fencing? Cheers in advance. Robsweetingfencing
It is horrible stuff to put up the tighter you pull it the height will shrink. When we have put it up we have put a crow bar throw it and pulled it by hand till your happy with it
Post Driver
Are you using stretcher bars like you would when affixing it to angle irons?
Robbell
its the fence of the devil, evil stuff as already stated if you tension it distorts the diamond shape , and shrinks in height, hand pull, rails then when you are happyish walk away

Post Driver
It's quite satisfying joining 2 rolls of chain link togther. When you twizzle the wire and it's stitches the two togther, almost zen like when it goes perfectly.
Frontrowfencing
We use stretcher bars, but pull it a bit tighter then by hand. We put the stretcher bar in a metre or so back from the post, then we use a top bottom and middle ratchet strap. We tension it a bit with the ratchet straps, then add another stretcher bar where we are going to attach it. As everyone else says though, we don't pull it to tight, but on longish runs we have never got it tight enough by hand, just needs a bit more. When I say by hand that did include the fact that Rory would have been the tensioner ...! This probable classes it as a bit more than by hand anyone who has meet him would understand ..!
