Markhibberdfencing
I have recently acquired a p300, first attempt at knocking through limestone and gripper plate bouncing of top of rock spike all it seemed to do was compress the limestone down even more, in my mind they should have a point on the end I would like to hear people's thought's on this cheers Mark. MikeW
my wrag rockspike had a 2 way point and was 65mm and that worked well but sometimes needed a bigger hole. The P22 has a flat bottomed 75mm spike and I agree if its concrete yard or something brittle then fine but in chalk it is a bit difficult. On the plus side it is less prone to follow the easiest route and wander ie a tree root or hard lump. Both have plusses and minuses. In my opinion the wrag rockspike transfer system is superior to the protech which I find a bit sloppy and doesn't go as deep.
Robbell
I think the theory is a point will bend over or hammer flat real quick, it can also jam into say wood, The flat bottom has to punch a hole that it should extract from and wont suffer any damage
