Frontrowfencing Posted January 28, 2016 Report Share Posted January 28, 2016 A beer or two. Ha ha. Spec depends on how big it is really, the bigger and heavier the gate the stronger it needs to be. From experience, use good strong hanging posts, plenty in the ground and go for the larger hinges and eyes. Use the inch ones not the three quarter. Our last set were 2.4 high and 6 metre wide, clad with 19mm osb. I think the posts were 100mm x 100mm so not that big but were 10mm thick. I believe the frames was made out of 100x60mm box, but not sure how thick. They were heavy though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
