Marks
Just had a job come in on some very steep rocky ground, it's a total #h@! Of a job far to steep for any machinery all gotta be done by hand. I'm worried about the strainers holding. Wots the best way to stop the strainers popping? do you think box strainers work better Cheers
D A MacDougall Fencing
If it very step rocky ground I would not advice using box stanier as its more post holes to dig and post to carry . Might be a option to go down the metal post route.
MikeW
I would look at metal too, much easier to drive and less bulky and for extra support you could wire back to ground anchors like the steel spiral ones they use in orchards and vineyards. Gripple also do a ground anchor but I have never used one so cant comment
Marks
Planning to use clipex inters and creosote strainers. do you think its best to set the strainers with the ground or level?
Mooresft
Foot them kiwi style I would say. Set the posts with ground, gets them further in. Strainers I'd set level, easier to dig! If it is really steep like really steep then there isn't going to be much stock pressure, better a fence with just tight wire and posts that stay in the ground, than one with super tight wire and popping posts. Just my two cents!
DWJONES fencing
is there an old fence there? If so use the old holes, they used to dig them in deep in the olden days no matter how hard it was. A deep strainer with a strut in rocky ground wont move far!
