RCCM
The spring on my stainless ct22 hog ring pliers has unbent itself on one end, any idea if i can get a replacement. its identical to this pair http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hog-Ring-Pliers-22-mm-Continuous-Manual-Feed-Cliptool-CT22-Stainless-Steel-/252287031927?hash=item3abd7a9a77:g:HcIAAOSwWTRWwITe
Goaty
Can't help but thanks for the link. I've wondered who made them better hog ring pliers, great for getting in at wire unlike the common design style. I bought an expensive Stanley/boostitch one and the rings are too weak. Great for a triple bypass zip up or carcass join up.
MikeW
Im pleased someone has brought these hog ring pliers up! I have got over 8 pairs of these bloody things in various states and what a waste of time they can be! I have a brand new set and several others and all most of them do is fire the clips out the end! I have tried 4 different types of cl22 clips from steel to alloy ones and the alloy ones are the best but even then they don't work properly. They are in my opinion such a massive rip off at near £50 a pop and does anyone know of any good ones that actually work. I also have some Stanley Bostich ones but the clips are not man enough really. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks
premnayloon
Have to say I have yet to find a set that work perfectly, one make the spring isn't tight enough, others handle to stiff despite lubrication, I prefer the green rapid ones, the work best burly of course different clips vr22,as opposed to cl22. premnayloon
Mike, here here, the price of them they should be much better, hardly cutting edge technology involved, surely, I have the problem of they reach final ten or so clips, then the spring isn't fit to push them forward, Or the clips wont shut right, Can anyone suggest consistently good working sets, I usually use the Airco clips stocked by tornado. Charliehub
We use and sell the Rapid ones, don't be put off by the plastic bit they are light and work well and are a dam site cheaper than the metal ones the hog rings are different also. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=261353543916&globalID=EBAY-GB http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251563817761&globalID=EBAY-GB
RCCM
Hi Charlie, Which set takes the heaviest gauge ring out of the two rapid pliers? Is vr22 thicker than vr16?
RCCM
I looked at a tennis court chain link fence today and it had much thicker stronger looking rings than my cl22 rings, any idea what they may be?
Charliehub
Yep the vr22 are larger than the 16's but would be the same size as cl22 rings, I'm not aware of any larger ones on the market but to be honest like most things they probably used to be bigger in the past like so many other things ..!! premnayloon
Aye Charlie I have two of the vr22 guns, I much prefer them as guns but I prefer the cl22 clips! Do rapid not do a gun to fit those clips, The rapid gun is good though certainly more consistent that the cl22,
