Mooresft
As per Title. Any recommendations, or more importantly any to avoid? cheers
PDRContracting
NFU for us, not the cheapest but surprisingly not that far out, about 5-10% last time I compared for the kit & business cover, a cost I'm willing to pay to speak to someone local I can understand, who's happy to make changes / add temp covers for hired in kit etc and knows what your talking about when covering the agri related kit. RED STAG
NFU for me just had a rep from another insurance company come and quote £1300 cheaper than the nfu but decided to stay with them. When I have had to use them they do stand up to be counted.
Haydn Gleave Fencing
With Towergate insurance through our local broker. Pretty good to sort out claims, even sort out courtesy vehicles if needed. Also got liability as well, just in case one of the lads is injured etc. Added bonus is, I can text our broker details of vehicle and have it added on the policy within half an hour. Highly recommended.
James Corbett
Nfu. Got mate get his digger and public liability for £250. If it sounds to good to be true probably is that what I told him. Nfu are far from cheapest but do liability and equipment with them. Trucks with another company.
Mr T
I'm with Cornish Mutual. Not the cheapest but you can speak to the local rep and they are on par with the NFU. Buying cheap insurance is like buying cheap tools they will let you down when you need them the most.
Frontrowfencing
Nfu here, more expensive but far better when claiming, I was with federation of small businesses, I think it was tower gate and they were awful, I had a lot of problems with them, but they use someone else I think. Robbell
NFU for me I gave 2 others the chance to quote, one never bothered, the other rang 2 days before renewal and said " stay with NFU"
Charliehub
We are with NFU but always have to hammer them down a bit if not they can take the **** a bit ...often get a quote of others to use as leverage but they are always good with any payouts

HullFencing
Nfu for the business and vehicles but jcb were loads better on our digger and less conditions with regard to where it needs to be kept. Nfu are great with hired in machinery - have just taken over a year to settle a claim on one of our trucks though
S.C.S
Nfu for us ! But think there time is running out. We used to hire in a tractor for a week or so but on the last job I couldn't hire in a tractor for short term had to insure for a year and couldn't cancel early luckily we didn't need too go on road so we insured it on hired in plant on existing policy ,but how stupid you can't now insure a hired in tractor for road use on a short term policy !???? Mooresft
Dragging this up from the dead. NFU have quoted me £950 for a fully comp policy on the tracked unit valued at 20k, this about right? They say it's a specialised unit and not an agricultural vehicle as its used for fencing. Frontrowfencing
Seems a bit high even for the NFU. I must be honest I can't compare, we have a combined policy which inlcudes all plant and machinery and public employers liability etc all,in one, it covers us for hired in plant and all number of things. We are on about 5k a year I believe, but I think it's very comprehensive. Or at least I am led to beleive it is.
Archie
Nfu for me. Local office and face to face is worth the little extra cost compared to call centres who don't know you. Also when my daughter passed her test they were £1300 cheaper than anything on the comparison sites
