Ajmoore1
Hi Not sure if this has been posted previously but to what height do you knock posts in for post and rail. Customer has speced 7ft 5x3 with 3 rails. It is to keep horses in a paddock. Am thinking 4ft 6 (54 inch) high with top rail 2inch from top and equally spaced rails 14 inch apart. Sound ok? I would prefer to use 4 rails with smaller gap but customer has speced it. Cheers
tommy7840
Hello Jon i think you are about right at 4 ft 6 as the horse netting is around 4 ft so that extra bit will help especially as you have 7 ft posts which are plenty strong enough.Hope that helps
Goaty
Sounds good. Most cattle, sheep and horse fences I do are around the 4ft mark. Even though the customer hasn't got other animals it's always worth setting up for them in case it needs grazing off. Cheaper to put another rail on now rather than have to alter later.
