Ben Fencin Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Somewhere I saw a diagram showing why the second brace post should be a smaller diameter then the straining post. Anyone know where I can find that?
Goaty Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 I imagine it allows a little give/yield, whereas if a fat post was on the inside of the line of pull it would take all the strain and nullify the other.
Ben Fencin Posted April 27, 2016 Author Report Posted April 27, 2016 I do recall why, was just hoping to find it for reference to show someone. The wire is not pulled from the tangent of the post, it's tied off so you're pulling closer to the center. A smaller post puts the brace more in line with the direction of pull. If you use the same size post it puts the brace out of alignment.
