nb844 Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 Normally dig rabbit netting in but been asked to do a temporary job round a vegetable garden and am thinking it would be better to pin the wire down instead. What do people use to do this?
premnayloon Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 I got pegs off eBay that are used for pinning down astroturf they work great, think i searched under " ground pegs" Was packaged under fibrelok geosynthetics.

Frontrowfencing Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 We use either line wire cut and folded, this is cheap, but a bit time consuming and not always the strongest, you can buy pegs from some suppliers I have seen Birkdale sell the, and they are galvanised. I also believe Gripple are doing something now that can be put in with a drill bit, not sure much about them, but what I saw at a show, looked like they might work, but expensive I imagine.
James Corbett Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 Company called Colin's nets look them up do some good pegs I use them on pheasant pens they do some good stuff and normally good with quick delivery
nb844 Posted May 7, 2016 Author Report Posted May 7, 2016 Thanks guys. How far apart do you normally space the pegs?
Mooresft Posted May 7, 2016 Report Posted May 7, 2016 I just run a line wire around very tightly with the wire folded underneath. staple this wire as low as you can on the posts (i normally create a little hole so the staple is actually below ground level). then use some off cuts of posts and drive them into the ground, staple the line wire to them as you knock them in and they pull the line wire down super tight. Stops the rabbits a treat!
