West Fork Fence
Hang it on insulators and put 10,000 volts to it.
tepapa
Unbelievable!! Can you just them to leave a few old rolls near by and hopefully they will steal them and save the hassle of stripping the new nett?
tepapa
Or hard staple every staple, they will soon get bored of stripping them.
Robsweetingfencing
Think we are going to put 8 strand of barb wire instead of netting
Matt on the Moors
Good grief- heard it all now. That's proper desperate. I think tepapas idea is propbably simplest even if it's just the top staple driven tight. Not ideal of course but what can you do,
Matt on the Moors
Would a strand of barb up against the net at mid net height help? I'm guessing it's quite a remote location cos I can't see how it'd ever be worth the risk of getting caught..
Goaty
Though annoying it's amazing thieves are actually putting work into it. Or is it a vendetta revenge thing.
Robsweetingfencing
I have a good idea who it is but I'll just keep a close eye on them as the net had been painted after the first lot had be stolen so should be able to tell
Goaty
Keep us posted. I find this fascinating. My dad told us a tale about a man in the village that didnt wash much. He was the suspected firewood thief. The victim drilled a hole in a log and emptied the gunpowder(didnt include pellets) in to the hole and plugged it up. The thief was seen around the village as sooty as a sweep.
RED STAG
Have herd of this happening before I believe Tornado made a special net with a gold top and bottom line wire so as it could be identified afterwards. Don’t know if the culprit was caught
premnayloon
Where are they when there is a fence to strip job. Did they take staples too or leave them lying. How about hard stapling random lines.
Robsweetingfencing
They take the staples out and leave them at the bottom of each post yes think knocking staple all way in May help. Thanks guy I'll keep you posted if I find out who it is I'll name and shame them
Malcolm
Hi Rob, you could always use 50 x 4mm staples and double staple in a 'X' shape across the vertical wires. This will make remove the staples a lot more difficult. Unless, of course they have a Staple-mate puller!
premnayloon
Just don't use the gas stapler. 6p a staple.
